Site Remediation

• System Design & Installation
• Operation & Maintenance
• Monitored Natural Attenuation
• Soil Excavation & Disposal

Environmental cleanup can be costly and time consuming.  SAGE evaluates alternatives and determines the best and most cost effective cleanup method for each site.  Remediation includes risk analysis; negotiation of corrective action goals, objectives, and permit requirements; and design and implementation of the selected corrective action.

Our personnel have experience with remedial systems designed to treat soil or ground water impacted by various types of contamination.  SAGE’s in-situ remediation projects have included soil vapor extraction (SVE), high vacuum extraction (HVE), air sparging, and chemical oxidation treatment systems.  In some cases, the most cost-effective ground water remediation option is monitored natural attenuation (MNA).  Following installation of remediation systems, SAGE has prepared operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals and conducted routine O&M to keep systems performing to specifications.

We also have extensive experience in remediation through excavation and removal of contaminated soil.    We have performed several large soil remediation projects involving the excavation and off-site disposal of soil contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, heavy metals and pesticides.  Where applicable, we reduce costs through recycling (e.g., incorporating oil-contaminated soil as asphalt feed stock) or risk-based evaluations (e.g., "de-listing" soil contaminated with hazardous wastes because it was below health-based risk levels).
