Wetlands Services

Wetland Delineation and Mitigation for Logan/Cache Airport Expansion Project; Logan/Cache Airport Authority; Logan and Cache County, Utah
SAGE personnel delineated jurisdictional wetlands and waters of the United States located within the project area for an extension of the main runway at the Logan/Cache Airport in Logan, Utah. A successful application for a permit under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act was also prepared, including a wetland mitigation plan for 14 acres of unavoidable wetland impacts. This mitigation plan has been implemented on a site along the Logan River in Cache County, Utah. Wetlands continue to develop on the site, which are being monitored by SAGE personnel to evaluate establishment success.

Interstate and Foreign Commerce Connections in Idaho’s Sinks Drainages, EPA
SAGE staff collected and prepared documentation of interstate and foreign commerce connections within the Big Lost River, Little Lost River, Medicine Lodge, Birch Creek, and Beaver-Camas Creek drainages in northern Idaho. This project was implemented to provide the EPA with evidence of commerce connections necessary to establish Clean Water Act jurisdiction over the waters and wetlands located within these drainages. In addition to the photo and text documentation of commerce connections, SAGE personnel compiled information regarding unique functions and values of the wetlands and waters within the drainages and presented that information in poster format for display in EPA and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers offices.
